I remember a particular roast beef dinner fundraiser event I worked very hard at organizing some years ago. The room was set up and decorated to perfection, our brochures and event agendas proudly laid out on the tables, the candles were lit and everything was ready in the kitchen.

Who would have thought that the sound system would only allow the guests in the first third of the room to hear anything clearly.

All the hard work that went into our speeches highlighting our organizations efforts for the year pretty much fell on deaf ears. Even the excellent entertainment duo could hardly be heard.

A nightmare experience? You bet! A lesson learned? Absolutely!
